New T-tools are in!

Unfortunately we won't be getting any more Y-tools in but the good news is that we have a new brand of t-tools in a wide variety of colors! Just like the Y-tool, it features a 3/8 in. socket, a 1/2 in. socket, and a 9/16 in. socket. It also includes a Phillips / Allen screwdriver that stores away on the top for easy access.

Tie Dye Decks

We just got in a new shipment of Tie Dye skateboard decks in sizes ranging from 7.5 up to 8.5. These new school skateboard decks comes with a mellow concave allowing for a more flat-footed skating style. The edges of the board are not so bowled compared to medium and steep concaves.

Blank Cruiser Deck

If you're looking to pick up a deck for cheap then you can't go wrong with a blank deck. We just received another shipment of products so if you were interested in getting a blank cruiser deck then you'll be glad to know that they're in stock. This includes drop downs, drop throughs, pintails, kicktails, fishtails, mini's, micro's, and skateboards. Colors available are natural, red, blue, green, black, and purple. Not only do you save cash with blanks but you also gain a blank canvas! Whether you plan to feature your own artwork or simply plaster it with stickers, now you can do it without breaking the bank.

Shown on the left is the Punked Stained Fishtails that measure at 40" x 9.5". This deck shape features a medium concave and a wheel base of 24". The longer wheelbase gives more stability for downhill speedboarding white also giving ample footspace for cruising.

Drop Down Longboard Complete

Are you in the market for a new drop down longboard complete? Well you aren't alone. We've received quite a few emails about this topic recently so we figured we'd write a little article covering the pros and cons compared to other shapes that we carry.

For starters, drop downs are unique in that the decks sit lower at the center compared to where the trucks are mounted. This lowers your center of gravity giving you more stability at greater speeds making it great for speedboarding. Being lower to the ground has other benefits as well. For one it makes it easier to initiate slides. It also makes pushing less strenuous making the drop board efficient for long distance riding. Footbraking is also a breeze with this kind of setup.

A negative aspect of a drop down longboard is that it's definitely NOT meant for off-roading. Being closer to the ground means that you have less clearance when riding over rocks or uneven terrain. When riding on pavement, you also have to be careful  with speed bumps. With a drop down you're also limited to using stiff trucks. Loosen your trucks too much and you'll be scraping your deck on the floor otherwise known as railbite. A stiff truck also means that making turns will require more effort.

There's one more thing that makes this board unique which can either be a pro or a con depending on who you talk to. Since the deck is lower than where the trucks are mounted, this produces a slight rocking affect that you don't get with other boards when making turns. This slight rocking affect is what helps initiate slides.

Pros:

• Great for speedboarding
• Great for long distance riding
• More stability at greater speeds
• Easier to initiate slides
• Easier to push compared to higher boards
• Easier to footbrake

Cons:

• Not meant for off-roading
• Requires stiff trucks
• Requires more effort to make turns

In closing, drop down longboards make great boards whether you plan to bomb hills or use it for transportation. As with any longboard, don't forget to wear proper safety equipment! If you have any questions about anything I said in this article feel free to reply below.
